The Nevada State Education Association, KDS and Touro University - Nevada Partner to Offer Nevada's First Approved Online Graduate Credit Courses for Teachers

Nevada Post Secondary Education Committee Approves Courses to Confer Graduate Credit

NEW YORK, May 29, 2007 — Knowledge Delivery Systems (KDS), an innovative provider of online professional development courses designed for K-12 educators, in partnership with Touro University Nevada and the Nevada Education Association, has been approved by the Nevada Post Secondary Education Committee to offer an online 18-graduate credit program and 3-graduate credit courses designed specifically for Nevada's teachers. The online courses will enable Nevada teachers the ability to earn their graduate credits online to meet their requirements for a salary increase.

There are currently two 18-Graduate Credit Programs, Teaching in the 21st Century Differentiated Classroom and Closing the Achievement Gap through Standards-Based Curriculum. Each program is comprised of six 3-Credit Courses which can be taken separately covering such topics as: Differentiated Instruction, Designing a Curriculum for High Stakes Testing, and Learning How to Develop Curriculum for the Struggling Student. Through working with the Nevada State Education Association, their members will only be required to pay $3,600 for an 18-Graduate Credit Program and $700 for individual courses ($4,500 and $800 respectively for non-members). These credits are applicable toward Bachelors +18 or Masters +18, as well as salary increase and recertification. Information on these courses is available at www.kdsi.org/nevada/.
