Believing that ALL students can learn mathematics, Paul Lawrence is widely known for his lively workshops for educators as well as for the innovative teaching materials he has prepared. His hallmark of practical ideas and lessons can be implemented in all classrooms.
Paul has been involved in mathematics education for over forty years. He has taught high school mathematics and has been a math supervisor, K-12 as well as a visiting part time lecturer at Rutgers University and a past President of the Association of Math Teachers of New Jersey (AMTNJ). In addition, he has been a member of New Jersey committees on the state tests in mathematics and has served as a member of the New and Experienced Teacher Institutes for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics since their inception in 1986. He is often a presenter at local, state and national conferences and has conducted hundreds of workshops throughout the United States. Paul was named by AMTNJ as the Max Sobel Outstanding Mathematics Educator for 2000.

Communicator Mathematics™ — an entire, hands-on, discovery-based program for grades 3-6 that includes a menu driven professional development component, an extensive parent information and support materials as well.
Communicator Mathematics™ Content Series — a set of 16 resource books containing hands-on discovery based activities for all topics commonly taught in grades 3-6. The series is designed for use in basic skill, special education, summer school and after school programs and includes a searchable data base, diagnostic tests, homework and professional development DVD's.
Good Connections for Testing — a resource book of 18 lessons, multiple choice and open-ended questions with prompts, which include activities to connect mathematics and language arts concepts to popular children's literature for teachers in grades 3-5. The book includes correlations to state standards as well as 150 ready-to-use black-line masters.
Question Quest: GEPA Edition — a set of four consumable booklets for students in grades 5-8. Each 100 page booklet includes instruction materials which help students to differentiate between good and bad responses on open-ended questions. In addition there are 12 sets of questions organized by the 12 macros on the GEPA. Each of the sets of questions contains 4 multiple choice ,1 short constructed response and 1 open-ended question.
Question Quest: HSPA Foundations — a consumable booklet for students in grades 9-12 and is a reorganization of the open-ended questions found in Question Quest GEPA Editions.. Each 100 page booklet includes instruction materials which help students to differentiate between good and bad responses on open-ended questions. In addition there are 12 sets of questions organized by the 12 macros on the HSPA. Each of the sets of questions contains 4 open-ended questions. This book was written for teachers to use as a resource to build the foundation needed to extend thinking and prepare students for HSPA related skills.
