The adolescent brain is a still-developing brain. Our courses in this subject area begin with an introduction to that elasticity and provide methodologies for educators to accommodate the specific needs of adolescent students. Because learning is a social, affective, and emotional experience (as well as a cognitive one) educators learn to teach students to interact effectively, to work in teams, to set and work toward goals, and to advocate for themselves. Marilee offer a sophisticated presentation of the relationship between instruction and assessment — one that facilitates differentiated, fair, and purposeful assessment.
