Lead ASP.NET Developer

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of back-end developers
  • Implement formal code management and release/deployment process
  • Implement regular rigorous code review process
  • Create a culture of very high-quality code production
  • Design, develop, test and maintain modules for the ASP.NET web platform, including web server controls, state management, ASP.NET AJAX Library, ADO.NET, monitoring, troubleshooting and debugging, web services, deployment and configuration for IIS 6.0/7.0.
  • Architect and develop SQL Server database including stored procedure creation and optimization, user-defined functions, views, schema design and general maintenance.
  • Production support for any and all of the applications, including release management, configuration, reporting, analysis, performance tuning.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience developing web applications. Strong foundation of programming fundamentals.
  • Experience in designing and developing ASP.NET applications in C# using framework 3.5 and above.
  • Experience in programmatic data management including XML and SQL and designing data models to accommodate business requirements. Expert knowledge of stored procedures and user-defined functions to support business rules.
  • Experience with TFS or other code management systems and with code deployment best practices
  • Experience in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and/or DTS (Data Transformation Services) with data mining and other data analysis skills. (Preferred)
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems, technologies and business requirements and proven ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Certification a plus.

Available Positions: RFP Writer

OVERVIEW

The RFP writer at KDS is responsible for all of the companys responses to requests for proposals from potential district clients. KDS is a high-growth company and these proposals, which range in size from one hundred thousand to several million dollars, represent a significant part of the companys growth. Proposals contain company information, answers to specific questions from the requesting district, a project plan, specific recommendations for online courses, and required financial and legal information. The successful RFP writer will help determine whether or not to respond to a given incoming RFP, organize all standard/repeatable information, act as project manager for the RFP process, managing other contributors where necessary, write the custom content for each proposal, make sure all information is correct, consistent, and well presented, and assemble and send the final response on time.

DUTIES

  • Read incoming RFPs to assess appropriateness
  • Project plan in order to comfortably meet RFP deadline
  • Perform detailed assessment of the RFP to plan response
  • Assign sections in need of expert input to appropriate managers
  • Develop detailed service/consulting plan with VP of Client Services
  • Develop specific course recommendations with VP of Curriculum
  • Create draft pricing with VP of Sales and VP of Client Services
  • Finalize pricing
  • Obtain specific legal and financial documentation, e.g. registered agent, business in states, insurance, bonding capacity, financial reports
  • Review, correct, edit, format all work received from other managers
  • Write content responding to specific RFP questions
  • Pull appropriate pre-written standard content (e.g. management bios, company description, technology white papers, references ) and make necessary modifications
  • Follow explicit directions to comply with RFP requirements
  • Format, collate, print and send
  • Organize and maintain all reusable materials

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Is an extraordinary clear and accurate writer
  • Requires little to no supervision / micromanaging
  • Pays attention to small detail / can follow tricky instructions to a "t"
  • Can use tools (ex. Mimeo.com) to order, print, and/or ship packages
  • Is technologically savvy / a fast learner for eClassroom and other KDS tools
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of professional development and/or curriculum
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of educational software/technology for adult learning
  • Can review RFP and recommend district plan
  • Can align courses to standards or Frameworks
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Can put together price quote based on internally published KDS pricebook
  • Can work quickly against a deadline

This is a consultant position with the potential to convert to a permanent full-time or part-time position.

Pay commensurate with experience.
