Logging Into The KDS eClassroom

You may log into the KDS eClassroom from any page on the KDS website by clicking the "Classroom Login" button located on the top navigation bar.

Viewing Your Syllabus

When you log into the KDS eClassroom, you will see a button at the top of the screen labeled "syllabus". Click on the button to view or download the syllabus for your course.

Registered Courses

On the left side of the screen, you'll see your registered courses, as well as the topics for each course. Next to the course title, you'll see the credit for the course. This course is 3 graduate credits. [From Touro portal]

Tracking Your Progress

Notice that after you've read the objective page, the status bar next to these step turns green. This progress-tracking feature lets you keep track of the work you've completed thus far.

Viewing Lectures

Your next step is to watch or listen to the 90-minute lecture. When you click on "play video", the video begins streaming automatically (no downloading required), along with a synchronized PowerPoint presentation. You can stop the video at any time, and pick up where you left off the next time you log in.

Downloading Additional Course Materials

Notice the tabs directly above the media index. Under the resources tab, additional course materials are available for downloading, including the accompanying PowerPoint presentations.

Using the Electronic Notepad

Right next to the resources tab is the electronic notepad. You can use the notepad to jot down ideas that occur to you while watching the video.

Viewing the Lecture Transcript

You can access a complete, searchable and printable transcript of the lecture. The transcript is a useful resources for the hearing impaired.

Using the Interactive Study Guide

After reviewing the lecture, your next step is to apply the course concepts using the interactive study guide, which challenges you to think critically about the lecture you've just seen. You can print out the entire Q&A session and use it as a tool to prepare for the graded post assessment.

The Discussion Forum

Across the top of the registered courses page, you'll see the discussion forum, under which you'll see the announcements and discussion topics that are posted by your course facilitators. You can participate in the discussion forum by adding your comments.

Viewing Your Cumulative Coursework

If you click on the "My Coursework" tab, you'll be able to see all of the assessment activities, discussions posted, and notes taken for each topic. You can print this cumulative coursework portfolio that documents your work for your school, district, or state, if required.

Finally, the help tab includes an eLearning classroom tutorial and hints so that you can maximize your learning experience.
