Rick Wormeli
Rick Wormeli is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher and a columnist for NMSA's magazine, "Middle Ground." He is also the author of "Meet Me in the Middle: Becoming an Accomplished Middle Level Teacher" and "Day One and Beyond: Practical Matters for New Middle Level Teachers." Rick's contributions to the KDS Library are numerous and include: -Brain Research and the Middle School Student -Motivating and Engaging the Middle School Student -Games as Tools for Learning -Motivating Colleagues
Bruce Campbell
Bruce Campbell's work begins largely where Dr. Howard Gardner's left off, in terms of understanding multiple intelligences. Bruce's work focuses on brain research and its application to the multiple intelligences. As Bruce says of his teaching techniques, "I can say [that my students] knew the structure of the earth, and perhaps even more importantly,had learned artistically, mathematically, musically, linguistically, kinesthetically, interpersonally and independently." Bruce's excellent work has helped teachers identify different types of learnings and how to focus their teaching techniques to include learnings of all types within a single classroom. Susan Winebrenner
Susan Winebrenner is a consultant who works with school districts all over the country to help them translate current educational research into classroom practice and an author. She is president of Education Consulting Service, Inc., a speakers' bureau for educational topics, which she founded in 1986.
Donald Deshler
Dr. Donald Deshler is currently director of the Center for Research on Learning at the University of Kansas, where he provides leadership for research, product development and staff development activities. Deshler, along with Keith Lenz has developed and validated the Strategic Instruction Model as a mechanism for improving the learning effectiveness of students with learning disabilities and the instructional effectiveness of teachers. Dr. Deshler's contribution to the KDS Library includes an in-depth lecture on the Strategic Instruction Model that is part of an ongoing series of Webcasts taking place between 2005-2006.
Keith Lenz
Keith Lenz is a senior research scientist at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning. He has worked extensively with Donald Deshler and is featured in the ongoing KDS series on the Strategic Instruction Model.
